Portfolio - the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport

I have always been fascinated by the airport. As much as the airport is about the machinery of the airplanes and the clocked schedules, it is also about the people who happen to be passing through.  So when I was given the assignment in a college photography class to visit one place repeatedly and photograph it, I immediately thought of the airport.  A bulk of my photos are from the pre-9/11 days of the airport.  Now that enough time has passed, what I captured is a glimpse of a travel era gone by.  For the most part, I freely roamed all the concourses.  I was just told not to photograph the security area.  One observation I have come to realize over the years is that even though the airport is an incredibly busy place, there are many more moments of solitude.
